Privacy Policy
We take data protection seriously and only collect what is technically necessary. This policy explains what data is processed when you visit lottoeule.de.
1. Data controller
Kapierstau Development UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Erikaweg 29
16321 Bernau, Germany
Email: kontakt@lottoeule.de
2. Data Protection Officer
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer because the legal requirements under § 38 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act) are not met (in particular: fewer than 20 people permanently process personal data and no high-risk processing takes place). For data protection queries, please contact the controller listed under section 1.
3. Hosting
This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. All data processing takes place on servers within the European Union. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with Hetzner.
Web fonts (Nunito) are served directly from our server. No embedding of Google Fonts or other third-party font services takes place.
4. Cookies and local storage
Lottoeule.de does not set marketing, tracking or
analytics cookies. The only cookie set is a strictly necessary session
cookie (PHPSESSID) used to protect your form input against
cross-site request forgery (CSRF). It is automatically removed when you
close your browser and is exempt from consent requirements under § 25(2)(2)
TTDSG (the German Telecommunications and Telemedia Data Protection Act).
5. Server log files
Each time you access our site, the web server automatically stores technical information in log files:
- IP address
- Date and time of access
- Requested URL
- Referrer URL (if any)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
This data is used exclusively for operational security and defence against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operations). Log files are automatically deleted after 7 days. We also use the IP address briefly to throttle excessive requests and protect site availability (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Analytics with Umami
We use Umami for anonymous traffic analysis. Umami is an open-source analytics platform that we self-host on our own Hetzner servers. No data is transferred to third parties.
Umami works without cookies and stores no personal data. Only aggregated metrics are collected: page views, browser/device type (grouped), approximate country (derived from IP address, which is not stored), and time on site. Individual visitors cannot be identified.
Umami additionally counts individual interactions anonymously, e.g. how often the "Share" button is clicked. No personal data is processed here either.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving our service). As no personal data is processed, no consent is required.
7. Numbers you enter and anonymous usage statistics
When you use the calculation tool, we store the lottery numbers you entered, the selected time period and the calculated result in anonymised form. The timestamp is stored at day-level only (not to the second). No IP addresses, browser information or other data that could identify you is stored.
Purpose: We use this anonymised data to produce statistical analyses (e.g. "Which numbers are tipped most often?") and to improve our service.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving our service). As no personal data is stored, no consent is required.
8. Shared results
When you click "Share this result", we store your selected lottery numbers, superzahl, the chosen period and the language of your evaluation in a database for 24 hours, so the resulting link works. We do not store IP addresses, browser information, or any other personally identifiable data alongside it. After 24 hours the entry is automatically removed; an expired link leads to a notice page.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the share feature). If you don't click the share button, nothing is stored.
9. Contact by email
If you send us an email, your details will be stored to process your enquiry and for any follow-up questions. Your data will be deleted after your matter has been conclusively dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
10. External links
Our site contains links to external websites (e.g. the German Federal Institute of Public Health / BIÖG, formerly BZgA). We have no influence over their content, and data processing on those sites is subject to their own privacy policies.
11. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- Request information about your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
Simply write to kontakt@lottoeule.de to exercise any of these rights.
12. Right to complain
If you believe that the processing of your data violates the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:
Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg
Stahnsdorfer Damm 77
14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany
www.lda.brandenburg.de
13. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this policy if the technical circumstances or legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page.
